Former NASA Astronaut to deliver an exclusive talk for Net Zero Week 2026

Ron Garan is a former NASA astronaut, decorated F-16 combat pilot, humanitarian, and keynote speaker who spent 178 days in space across two missions, logging more than 71 million miles in 2,842 orbits around Earth. During his time aboard the International Space Station, he conducted four spacewalks and gained a perspective that reshaped how he sees leadership, collaboration, and our responsibility to the planet. He is the author of Floating in Darkness (follow the link to buy the book) and The Orbital Perspective (follow the link to buy the book). Ron speaks worldwide on sustainability, innovation, and what it takes to solve our greatest challenges together.

Ron’s talk:

From the vantage point of space, the atmosphere that protects all life on Earth looks paper-thin. That image changes everything. Former NASA astronaut Ron Garan spent 178 days in orbit, witnessing our planet’s beauty and fragility firsthand. In this opening address, Ron shares what that perspective revealed: that the challenges we face on the ground, including the race to net zero, look different from altitude. And different is exactly what we need right now.
