Synopsis:

Achieving the UK’s net zero commitments is no longer just a technical or policy challenge; it is a leadership challenge under intense pressure. Organisations across infrastructure, energy and engineering are being asked to innovate faster, with tighter budgets, greater public scrutiny and increasingly complex stakeholder expectations, while also securing public and political support and driving real behavioural change.

Leadership approaches that were shaped in a more stable, predictable world can struggle in today’s landscape of new technologies, diverse communities and contested transitions.

This session explores how harnessing collective intelligence can help leaders navigate that complexity and unlock the innovation needed for net zero. Instead of relying only on a small senior group, we look at what becomes possible when leaders actively draw on the full range of perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking already present in their organisations and wider systems, to reveal blind spots, reduce risk and open up new pathways.
